How it works

01

React

Tag a troubleshooting thread with your trigger emoji.

02

Generate

We fetch the thread and turn it into a clean draft with AI.

03

Publish

Review, edit, approve — and it lands in your knowledge base.

The problem your team has every week

Valuable knowledge lives in Slack threads that nobody can find two weeks later.

A

where did we fix that Redis timeout issue again?

B

no idea 😅 someone solved it but I can't find the thread

C

there were like 40 replies… could be anything

40 minutes later — nobody found it. Same fix applied from scratch.

Knowledge Base · Redis Timeout

Redis Connections Dropping Under Load

Root Cause

TCP backlog (somaxconn) set too low under traffic spikes.

Solution

Raise maxclients and match OS somaxconn.

Prevention

Add this to the Redis runbook. Alert if connections > 80%.

✓ Found in 5 seconds. Problem solved — again, instantly.

Real time saved

Without Knowledge Grabber

40 min

Writing one incident doc manually — after the fact, from memory, with gaps.

With Knowledge Grabber

30 sec

React with an emoji while the thread is still fresh. Done.

A team of 10 engineers documenting 3 incidents a month saves ~20 hours — every month.

One emoji, the right kind of doc

React with a specific emoji and the AI writes for that format — an incident postmortem reads nothing like a runbook.

📝:memo:

General doc

A structured write-up — Problem / Root Cause / Solution. Your default trigger emoji.

🚨:rotating_light:

Incident postmortem

Turns an incident thread into a postmortem / RCA with a timeline and follow-ups.

🔧:wrench:

Runbook

Turns a thread into a step-by-step operational runbook the on-call can follow.

🐛:bug:

Bug write-up

Turns a debugging thread into a clean bug report with repro steps and the fix.

Your general trigger emoji is configurable in Settings.

Everything you need to capture knowledge

One emoji to capture

React with :memo: on any thread. No copy-paste, no forms — it just works.

AI writes the doc

Structured Markdown with Problem / Root Cause / Solution. No chatter, no fluff.

Review before publish

Every doc is a draft first. Approve in one click — your wiki never gets AI noise.

Syncs to your stack

Publish straight to GitHub, Notion, or Confluence as permanent documentation.

Perfect for

Any team that uses Slack to solve problems — and wants to stop solving the same ones twice.

Built for teams that care about security

We connect to your Slack workspace with the minimum permissions required — and we never publish anything without your approval.

🔐

OAuth only — no passwords

Slack, GitHub, Notion, and Atlassian connections use official OAuth flows. No tokens pasted by hand, ever.

🔒

Secrets encrypted at rest

Slack bot tokens and integration credentials are AES-encrypted before being stored in the database.

👁️

Review before publish

Nothing is published automatically. Every doc is a draft you approve. Your knowledge base stays under human control.

📉

Least-privilege permissions

We request only the Slack scopes needed to read threads you trigger. We don't read your entire workspace.

🏢

Multi-tenant isolation

Every organization's data is isolated by org ID. One workspace cannot access another's documents or settings.

🗑️

Delete any time

Uninstalling the Slack app immediately revokes access and clears your bot token. You stay in control.

Frequently asked questions

Does it automatically publish to my wiki?

No — never. Every document starts as a draft. You review it, edit if needed, and publish with one click. Nothing reaches your GitHub, Notion, or Confluence without your approval.

Can I edit the draft before publishing?

Yes. The dashboard has a full split-pane Markdown editor — live preview on one side, editable source on the other. Edit as much or as little as you want before approving.

Is my Slack data stored on your servers?

We store the generated document and metadata (thread ID, channel, timestamp). We do not persistently store raw Slack message content after the document is generated.

Which Slack plans are supported?

Knowledge Grabber works on Slack Free, Pro, Business+, and Enterprise Grid. The only requirement is that you can install apps from the Slack App Directory.

Can I use it with private Slack channels?

Yes. Add the Knowledge Grabber bot to any private channel and it will have access to threads in that channel only.

Can I customize the document templates?

The four emoji triggers (general doc, postmortem, runbook, bug) each use a dedicated prompt template. Your general trigger emoji is configurable in Settings. Custom templates are on the roadmap.

Can I connect multiple destinations?

Yes. Connect GitHub, Notion, and Confluence all at once. When publishing a document, you choose which destination to send it to — per document.

What's included in the free plan?

The free plan includes 5 documents per month, all four emoji triggers, and all three publish destinations (GitHub, Notion, Confluence). Upgrade to Pro for unlimited documents.
